Our story

Fifty years serving
one community.

"When you call us, you reach someone who grew up here, who knows this community, and who will be there for your family — personally." — Beverly Newell Huckabee

A quiet way of working

We do not sell.
We sit with people.

Most of our families come to us in the worst week of their lives. They do not need to be sold anything. They need someone to take the next call. Sign the next form. Open the next door.

That is the work. It has not changed in fifty years.

Our directors listen first and offer second. No one is shown a price sheet before they are ready. No one is pushed toward a more expensive option. The bill that arrives is exactly the bill quoted at the start.

We serve Malakoff, Seven Points, Kemp, Tool, Trinidad, and every community in Henderson County — and we come to you.

Leadership

Beverly Newell Huckabee.

Owner & Director since 2010

A Malakoff native
caring for her neighbors.

Beverly Newell Huckabee has lived in Malakoff her entire life. When she purchased Huckabee-Tomlinson Funeral Homes in 2010, she was not acquiring a business — she was accepting a responsibility to the community that raised her.

Sixteen years later, that responsibility shapes every decision. The phone is still answered by a real person. The families who walk through either of our chapels still leave knowing they were treated with honesty and care.

"This community has given me everything. The least I can do is be here when it needs me."

Come meet us before you need to.

The best time to visit a funeral home is when nothing is wrong. Walk through a chapel, ask any question, leave when you like. No obligation ever.
